'Oreshnik' in Belarus: patrol areas
Chief of staff discussed strategic features of the complex in an ONT interview
In an interview with an ONT journalist, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and First Deputy Minister of Defense of Belarus, Major General Pavel Muraveyko, confirmed that the 'Oreshnik' missile system is located on the country's territory. He stated that areas where the system will be operational have been identified within the framework of combat patrols. Official sources reported that the system enables rapid response to potential threats and ensures strategic protection of key facilities.
Muraveyko emphasized that the presence of the 'Oreshnik' in Belarus strengthens the country's defense capabilities and highlights joint efforts within the Union State. He noted that the system is connected to the national command and control network, as well as to air defense systems. According to the expert, further development of the complex includes equipment modernization and continuous monitoring of airspace.
Context
"Oreshnik" is a Russian-Mexican missile complex developed for planned and designated combat zones, registered in the space forces launch campaigns of the Russian Federation in 2018.
The Belarusian army confirmed that the "Oreshnik" missile system is deployed in the country and has established a combat patrol area, enhancing strategic defense.
