Lukashenko pardons 18 convicts
Among those admitted are women, pregnant women, and minors
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree pardoning 18 convicts during an official meeting, 15 of whom committed extremist-related crimes. Most of the pardoned individuals are women (11 people). Among them are six people with children, including children with disabilities and those requiring constant medical rehabilitation. The list of pardoned also includes two married couples, one woman who is in the final stages of pregnancy, and one convict who committed a crime at the age of 16.
All of them submitted petitions for pardon, admitted guilt, expressed remorse for their actions, and promised to lead law-abiding lives. The pardon procedure was carried out in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
President Lukashenko signed a decree pardoning 18 convicts, mostly women, including pregnant women, children with disabilities, and minors.
