Planning 7 cases on Nazi executioners
The government is preparing a trial on crimes committed by Nazi executioners
In Belarus, a minimum of seven criminal cases involving actions of Nazi executioners during World War II are planned to be sent to court by 2026. According to the Ministry of Justice, these cases will examine specific allegations of war crimes and genocide. This new initiative continues efforts to uncover historical crimes and hold accountable those involved in these events.
According to official sources, preparation of documents and collection of evidence will be carried out in close cooperation with judicial and investigative authorities. It is expected that investigations will use archival sources, witness testimonies, and expert opinions. Under the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, every violation of international humanitarian law must undergo mandatory judicial review.
This decision aligns with Belarus's efforts to achieve justice for past crimes and strengthen the rule of law in the country, including in response to international attention to human rights and war crimes.
