Care allowance raised to 100% of BPI
Under the new measure, 80-year-olds will receive 100% of the subsistence minimum budget (SBM), and 120% SBM when caring for two or more.
Starting February 1, 2026, Belarus will increase the care allowance for elderly people over 80 years old or for first-group disabled individuals. According to the new regulation, caring for one incapacitated person will provide a payment equal to 100% of the subsistence minimum—496.96 Belarusian rubles (BYN), valid until April 30, 2026. Caring for two or more incapacitated individuals will amount to 120% of the subsistence minimum, or 596.35 BYN. The allowance increase is expected to significantly impact families and caregiving organizations in the country.
