President gave economic recommendations
The report emphasized industrial instability and the need for price controls
During another report by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, he drew the government's attention to the downturn in the industrial sector: 'Throughout the year, this key industry has been steadily slowing down. Half of the manufacturing industry is in a difficult situation.' The president noted problems in agriculture, despite a good harvest, emphasizing 'an unacceptable level of livestock mortality and chronic debt among agricultural organizations.' He urged the government and the National Bank to abandon the euphoria of macroeconomic stability, setting as the main goal modest growth in the economy of regions and the country as a whole. The report also included demands for price control: 'Price monitoring must be strict, and price formation must be fair.' Furthermore, the president stressed the need for active work in the domestic market, stating: 'Losing our domestic market is a crime. Over five years, the share of domestic goods in the domestic market has decreased from 60% to 54%.' Finally, he emphasized the need for continuous efforts to improve quality and reduce costs, saying: 'There are very good products that have been awarded the Quality Mark. But there is no visible effort to promote these products.'
President Lukashenka emphasized in his report the decline of industry, agricultural problems, the need for price control, and a focus on Belarus's domestic market.
