Belarus army combat readiness check

The armed forces of Belarus have begun an inspection of combat readiness of units and military units. Defense Minister Lieutenant General Viktor Khrenin announced that the event is comprehensive in nature, with a phased increase in the composition and number of involved units.

Meanwhile, the inspection according to the plans of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff is a separate but parallel process. Khrenin emphasized that while the inspection is scheduled within the framework of training for military reservists, for the inspected units it is an unscheduled surprise inspection.

The main goal is to assess the readiness of personnel; particular attention is paid to practicing issues of security, camouflage, and countering modern warfare means such as unmanned aerial vehicles. At the final stage, a comprehensive exercise is planned at training grounds and concentration areas, where new forms of defensive and offensive operations will be practiced with extensive use of drones and electronic warfare systems.

The results of the inspection will be analyzed and used in further training of military units and subdivisions. According to the minister, the inspection launched on January 16 by the president's order and the current inspection according to the plans of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff are two independent events.
