Energy regulation in cold conditions
The president heard a report on the state of the power grid
On January 28, President Alexander Lukashenko heard a report from Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich on the functioning of the country's energy infrastructure amid deteriorating weather conditions. Karankevich reported that between January 27 and 28, power supply disruptions were recorded in 475 settlements; 450 of them have already been restored, and the rest are expected to be restored by the 28th. No changes were recorded in the backbone power lines. The Minsk and Gomel regions were the most affected; the Vitebsk region was partially affected. A total of 690 repair crews equipped with modern equipment are involved in the restoration work. The report also covered centralized heating supply: operations are proceeding under normal conditions, no outages have been recorded, and measures have been taken to reduce the load on heating networks. Overall, Belarusian energy workers continue implementing a comprehensive set of preventive measures to minimize outages due to adverse weather conditions.
The president discussed with the deputy prime minister the situation regarding power and heating supply in cold weather, focusing on restoring 475 supply points and coordinating 690 work crews.
