Tourism: aim to double economic contribution
The President of Belarus stated that tourism's share must double within the next five years
During a press briefing, the President of Belarus noted that the main task for the upcoming five years would be doubling tourism's contribution to the country's economy. He said that developing the national brand and enhancing services in the digital service chain would help attract more foreign and domestic tourists. Priority regions highlighted include Minsk as a world-class capital, Brest with its fortress and the ancient Białowieża Forest, Vitebsk as a cultural and festival center, Gomel region with its palace-and-park ensembles, Mogilev region with healing springs, and Grodno region with its castle architecture. The President emphasized that all decisions made by the government are aimed at creating a domestic tourism platform capable of providing accommodation booking, ticket purchasing, and route planning.
