Ministry of Internal Affairs: a run-up to the holiday

A combat march with live firing has started at the special-purpose training center of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (IT MIA), dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day and the Armed Forces of Belarus. The event was attended by the head of the MIA, Ivan Kubrakov, deputy ministers, heads of departments of protection and punishment execution, the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, the Internal Affairs Department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, as well as commanders and servicemen of internal troops units. According to the ministry, the purpose of the event is to maintain a high level of readiness among the leadership of internal affairs bodies and internal troops to perform their official duties.

Defender of the Fatherland Day is celebrated on February 23 in Belarus as a national holiday honoring the country's servicemen.
