Wolfovich: police protect citizens

At a solemn ceremony at the Palace of the Republic, Interior Minister Alexander Volfovich noted that today's police generation faces challenges no less difficult than during the Great Patriotic War, but does not seek easy paths. He emphasized that 'the geopolitical situation in the world today is extremely tense,' which affects 'risks and challenges in the field of national security.' Nevertheless, Volfovich assured that modern police officers 'courageously carry out tasks to protect and safeguard our citizens.' According to him, thanks to the efforts of the leadership and all employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 'a reliable barrier has indeed been erected in the path of crime.' Law enforcement officers, in his assessment, reliably guard the streets of cities and populated areas.
