Academic science development law approved

The presidential initiative 'Law on the Development of Academic Science' has received confirmation from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The Chairman of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences, Vladimir Karanik, reported that the document containing specific amendments has been fully prepared and coordinated with all state governance bodies. Currently, it is undergoing final adjustments at the Presidential Administration and will be presented to the Head of State in the near future.

The project includes several key directions: new approaches to funding science, clear criteria for assessing the performance and effectiveness of research, as well as support mechanisms for scientists, from academicians to young researchers and university teachers. The President emphasizes a fast and concrete strategy, demanding not just 'beautiful strategies,' as stated in Decree No. 135, but practical solutions.
