Winter 2026: Snow, Frost, Utilities Work
Work progress: 8,200 specialists, 100,000 m³ of snow
In 2026, Belarus is experiencing one of the harshest winters in recent years. At the peak of snowfalls, more than 8,200 utility workers participated in clearing the streets. From Minsk, tractors and loaders removed over 100,000 cubic meters of snow—enough, by estimates, to build an ice hill as tall as several skyscrapers. Now, amid severe frosts, maintenance, road, and emergency services continue working non-stop, removing ice, clearing roads, and restoring power supply.

Context
Another extreme winter occurred in 2025, when temperature fluctuations led to worsening public comfort.
In 2026, record snowfalls and frosts required over 8,200 utility workers to clear streets and maintain infrastructure. Coordinated efforts enabled removal of 100,000 m³ of snow and restoration of damaged power lines.
