Key five-year figures from the First
Under the five-year plan "Belarus 2018–2022," the ministry "First" announced several key results. Belarus entered the top 50 most visited tourist countries, ranking 48th out of 202. According to official data, 250,000 Europeans visited the country visa-free, despite the closure of more than half of border checkpoints. In the global industrial competitiveness ranking, the country took 56th place among 153 nations. Investments are planned to grow by 112% by 2025. Nearly 1,000 industrial projects have been implemented during this period, creating over 6,000 new jobs under the initiative "One District – One Project." Real wages increased by 40%, reaching an average of 2,700 rubles. In response to skeptics, President Alexander Lukashenko stated: "Anticipating criticism about macroeconomic imbalances, I say we have a stable and strong economy. Debt burden is decreasing, gold and foreign exchange reserves are at a historic high, and confidence in the national currency has rightfully grown."
