The Head of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, noted in his speech that the outgoing year was marked by Belarus's chairmanship in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). According to the president, new momentum and vision for economic processes were introduced in its work. Lukashenko emphasized that Belarusian initiatives within the EAEU 'were driven not by short-term circumstances or national preferences, but by long-term priorities relevant to all member states.' He pointed out that Belarus's chairmanship coincided with the end of a five-year cycle of EAEU development and concluded with the strengthening of the economic potential of the participating countries. The president assured that despite immense external pressure, the Union has not only preserved but also increased its significance for strengthening the economic potential of the member states.
