Netflix declines to buy WB assets

Netflix has declined the offer to purchase part of Warner Bros. Discovery's assets. This decision paved the way for the further merger of Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount-Skydance. Company management stated that the price required to outbid Paramount's proposed terms made the deal financially unattractive, and therefore it was rejected. Thus, further negotiations are now aimed at merging two major American media corporations without Netflix's involvement.

Context

In 2024, Warner Bros. Discovery was considering cooperation with Paramount-Skydance and also attempted to make deals with Netflix, but ultimately rejected the latter proposal due to financial considerations.
