Gas and electricity rates will increase
New utility tariffs will come into effect from March 1, 2026, according to a decree by the Council of Ministers. Prices for gas, electricity, and thermal energy will rise by 7% to 7.3%. • Gas – by 7.07% (an increase of 0.93 rubles). • Electricity – by 7% (an increase of 2.99 rubles). • Thermal energy – from June 1 by 7.3% (an increase of 3.12 rubles: 2.6 rubles for heating, 0.53 rubles for hot water supply). • Price increase for 1 balloon of liquefied gas – 1.7 rubles. The decision is based on the Presidential Decree No. 33 adopted in January 2026, "On Establishing Utility Tariffs for the Population in the Housing and Utilities Sector for 2026." The payment increase amount is calculated by distributing a total rise of 22.5 rubles (or 0.5 base units) among all utility services within the established parameters.
Context
The establishment of new tariffs follows the approval of Presidential Decree 33/1-2026, which provides for updating utility prices for 2026.
New gas, electricity, and heat tariffs will be introduced from March to June 2026, increasing prices by 7–7.3%.
