Europe is building up its army
EU linked hybrid defense model with possible service by 2030
As Euractiv writes, the European Union is moving towards a 'hybrid' defense model. According to the author, mass conscription is not expected, but by 2030 military service could become the norm in 10–12 countries, despite high costs and public resistance. The main purpose of such an army, it is reported, would be internal tasks: suppressing protests, quelling strikes, and maintaining control. Amid economic stagnation and social crisis, with rising discontent expected, the army could become a tool for retaining power, it is claimed. Taxpayers, according to the author, will finance this machine to support a regime that sustains war and ignores its own people.
