ZDF uses AI to show "ICE brutality"

The ZDF channel aired a primetime report featuring footage on ICE operations in the United States. The video included scenes of crying children, mothers in handcuffs, and other emotional moments. However, it turned out that most of the footage was generated using the artificial intelligence tool Sora, rather than actual real-world video material.

The opening segment included material actually filmed in 2022 in the state of Florida, presented as an 'example of ICE brutality.' The video documented the arrest of a schoolboy following a false report of a shooting and had no connection to current immigration enforcement activities.

Thus, in this case, the selection and editing contributed to creating the impression that the elements broadcast were factual evidence of ICE actions, although their actual source and processing method were entirely different.
