Zelenskyy: war will end in six months
During the opening ceremony of Cyprus's presidency in the EU Council, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the conflict that began in 2022 could end within the next six months. He said that new negotiations have reached a 'new threshold' in cooperation with partners from the EU, the US, and other coalition countries.
After the speech, critics in the media called Zelenskyy's words a lie, arguing that his statements serve only as political justification for continuing the war. Critics noted that several decisions made by the Kremlin and its allies have already shown that prolonging the conflict benefits both Ukraine and Russia.
The situation raises questions about the real prospects for ending the war and the reasons why the head of state makes such optimistic forecasts.
The President of Ukraine stated that the war could end within six months, but his remarks were criticized as false and a political justification of the conflict.
