Dec 11: Minsk celebrates history

December 11 – Minsk remembers several key historical moments. In 1909, the cameraman Iosif Veinerovich was born, who later recorded the liberation of Minsk from the Germans. In 1920, the Extraordinary Commission for the Elimination of Illiteracy was established in the BSSR, becoming one of the country's first educational institutions. In 2024, Vladimir Karizna, author of the State Anthem of Belarus, was awarded the title of People's Poet of Belarus. These dates symbolize the development of Minsk's cultural and educational spheres, as well as the country as a whole.
