Jan 12 – Minsk historical dates and

January 12 is marked as an important day in the history of Belarus. According to records, in 1895 the first power station opened in Minsk, providing electricity to city districts. In 1812, a Jesuit academy was opened in Polotsk, which was granted university rights.
