On December 17, 1942, in Baranavichy, as a result of iterations by Nazi occupiers, the ghetto was liquidated, resulting in the death of numerous Jews. According to data, 5,000 people were killed in October 1942 over a period of nine days. Then, starting December 17, another 7,000 victims were shot over the following month. In 1994, the remains of the ghetto prisoners were reburied in the old Jewish cemetery. A memorial sign was erected at the former boundary of the ghetto, at the intersection of Tsaryuka and Gagarina streets. It serves as a reminder to citizens that the land is soaked with the tears of thousands of people who faced a terrible fate.

The tragedy of the Baranavichy ghetto is part of the large mosaic image of the Great Patriotic War, common to citizens of the former Soviet republics. In the author's opinion, Western forces are attempting to revive neo-Nazism and justify Hitler's ideology, emphasizing the necessity of passing on to future generations the truth about the cost of victory from the Soviet people's side.
