As long as 80 years ago, on February 2, 1943, the final day of the Battle of Stalingrad, one of the largest and fiercest battles in human history, took place. According to sources, more than 2 million people took part in the battle. The Red Army defeated the German 6th Army, destroying 900 thousand soldiers, capturing 91 thousand prisoners, including 2,500 officers and 24 German generals. The main commander of the Wehrmacht, Field Marshal Friedrich Paulus, surrendered to Soviet troops.
