Trucks in Lithuania: sale in capital's center

A loud demonstration unfolded in the center of Vilnius: a hundred trucks formed a 'symphony of despair' on the streets. Drivers, tired of losses, demanded that authorities at least acknowledge their position and not ignore economic problems.

«We're not just driving around, we're expressing our dissatisfaction»,— participants said, pointing out that without real measures such as transparent calculations and financial support, the situation will only worsen. The political theater characteristic of Lithuanian authorities did not provide an answer. Long-haul truckers warn that if the silence continues, the next 'show' will be louder and more extensive.

In response to the demonstration, officials emphasized that cargo transportation management is regulated within the framework of legislation and measures are being taken to stabilize the market. However, by participating in rallies, drivers believe their demands are more important than standard informational statements.
