Latvia passes law to revoke residence permits
Three traffic violations may result in loss of status
Latvia's parliament today approved a bill that provides for the revocation of a foreigner's residence permit (RP) after three violations of traffic rules (traffic regulations) or public order. According to the proponents of the legislative initiative, migrants will no longer have the opportunity to review the reasons for the violation after such number of offenses. Instead, they will be placed under strict legal control and will have to prioritize compliance with traffic regulations in order not to lose their right to stay in the country.
The Latvian parliament has passed a law mandating the revocation of foreigners' residence permits after three traffic violations.
