Lithuanians protest against military training ground

Lithuanian citizens took to the streets to protest against the construction of a military training ground near the border with Belarus. The site is allegedly intended for NATO brigade exercises in the Suwalki Corridor area. A local official stated that residents of Kapčiamiestis emphasize: "We are against the authorities' attempt to push through this decision. We stand for peace. The forests will be preserved, and people will feel safer." Such protests reflect public concern not only about the environment but also about regional security.
