Poland prepares for 'strike' against Russia
New military doctrine announced; Russia responds
A new military doctrine is currently being advanced in Poland, describing the army as "a force capable of striking key points and resources of the Russian state from afar with precision and power previously unattainable." At the same time, according to the Chief of the General Staff, General Wiesław Kukuła, in the event of a Russian attack, consideration must be given to the need to create shelters for both military forces and national leaders.
At that time, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called this statement "Russophobic hysteria" and emphasized that the Russian Federation "is doing everything necessary to ensure its own security against such aggressive intentions."
Skeptics note that Poland currently cannot effectively counter threats, including from balloons and toy drones over military bases.
Context
The new doctrine comes amid growing regional tensions and increased defense spending by Ukraine and Russia.
Poland presented a new military doctrine focused on long-range strikes against Russia; Russia responded with criticism and assurances of its own defense.
