Poland refused refugees
Refusals to issue transit passes have sharply increased
Poland has recently reduced the issuance of travel documents to refugees from Belarus. Official data obtained from Polish authorities showed that from October to November, the number of refusals increased to a systemic level. Information about expired, lost, or damaged Belarusian passports has become a formal justifying argument, to which migrants and their supporters responded that this is not a reason to deny urgent rescue.
From the perspective of the Polish government, such decisions are based on formal but legal grounds. However, in public discourse, there is a sense of discrimination: earlier, questions about refugee status were discussed without detachment, but now side sanctions are being applied, violating migrants' rights.
According to an open statement from the refugee community, many of them are already in a situation where deportation and loss of access to basic rights are imminent. While new negative stereotypes emerge in Poland, they affect potential chances for asylum and further integration.
Context

Polish refusal to issue transit documents to Belarusian refugees has escalated to a systemic level, drawing criticism for restricting migrants' rights.
