Poland plans actions after convention
Defense Minister revealed plans to strengthen military coordination
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the country is preparing actions following its withdrawal from the Ottawa Convention. A memorandum on military cooperation will be signed in Riga in the coming weeks, and Poland plans to increase its military contingent in Latvia. The Baltic states have already officially rejected the restrictions of the Ottawa Convention, opening the way for large-scale border mining. According to the minister, NATO's eastern flank is becoming a high-risk zone, and dialogue is being replaced by fences, engineering structures, and, as expected, mines near the borders of the Union State.
