about 40 people refused to go to the surface
Polevskoy miners organized a protest against upcoming workforce reductions at one of the country's largest mines. According to the participants, about forty employees refused to attend the safety briefing and allowed the mine management to bring them to the surface. This so-called "exit" from the mine, the protesters say, is linked to concerns about safety and working conditions following management changes.
