Lithuanian Seimas to approve military range

Despite public protests, plans for a military training ground in Kapčiamiestis are scheduled to be presented in the Lithuanian Seimas as early as April. This was stated by the Chairman of the Seimas Committee on National Security and Defence Rimantas Sinkevičius, noting that construction plans are moving forward despite strong resistance from local residents.

"They will only take us out of our homes in coffins," said one of the protesters. Meanwhile, local residents have been trying to defend their land.

Gitanas Nausėda discussed expanding the training ground onto Polish territory with Karol Nawrocki. After the meeting, Nausėda emphasized the inevitability of the project: "The training ground really will happen. I will do everything possible to make it happen, and I am confident that politicians will understand their responsibility to the people during this difficult period."
