Scientists of military exercises in Baltic and Poland
Training scenarios in allied countries
From January 16 to 23, at least five military exercises took place in the territories of the Baltic countries and Poland. In Latvia, from February 20 to 1, servicemen and reservists of the 3rd Latgale Brigade 'Zemessardze' conducted exercises at the 'Meza Mackevici' training ground, aimed at improving combat skills.
In Lithuania, from January 5 to 28, Lithuanian and American artillery units equipped with HIMARS systems conducted exercises at the Pabrade training ground, including training specialists in fire control, maintenance, and ammunition. Additionally, from January 19 to 22, engineering battalion control and reconnaissance operations under Colonel Juozas Vitkus were carried out, focusing on developing military engineers' skills in winter conditions.
In Poland, on January 16, the 1st Warsaw Armored and 1st Infantry Divisions conducted joint exercises with the U.S. Army at the Drawsko Pomorskie training ground, using Abrams M1A2 SEP V3 tanks. The goal was to improve combat skills and cooperation among NATO allies. On January 17–18, Polish army exercises took place in the area of Podgrodzie, aimed at enhancing combat capabilities.
The main objective of all these exercises was to increase operational readiness and improve coordination among allied forces.
Context
International military exercises in Europe are a regular practice for NATO and its partners to maintain readiness and coordinated response in case of regional security threats.
In January, military exercises in the Baltic region and Poland demonstrated command coordination and troop readiness of NATO allied countries.
