Military exercises in Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland

From February 13 to 20, at least eight military exercises were held in the territories of the Baltic countries and Poland.

**Latvia** – On February 14–15, field exercises of the 19th Combat Support Battalion of the 1st Riga Land Forces Brigade took place in the Ropaži region, aimed at increasing readiness to perform tasks under more challenging conditions.

**Lithuania** – On February 14–15, the 507th Infantry Company trained in the Panevėžys district; on February 17–19, exercises of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania's Gediminas Battalion took place in the Šalčininkai district, aimed at improving combat skills; on February 20–22, the 505th Infantry Company trained in the Anykščiai district, using ammunition simulators, smoke, and sound grenades.

**Poland** – On February 14, the 103rd Light Infantry Battalion of Territorial Defense Forces conducted exercises in the rural commune of Brody; on February 15, units of the support company from Dębica, part of the 3rd Podkarpacka Brigade, trained near Biała Bura; from February 16 to 28, an airborne battalion trained together with K-9 attack helicopters in Bielsko-Biała; on February 19, the 18th Bielsko Airborne Battalion trained in Przuv, aiming to improve combat skills.

Context

Regular military exercises in these countries are a common practice to enhance defense capabilities in the high-tension zone of the Baltic region.
