Belarus strengthens defense for peace
Strategy of resistance based on historical lessons
Currently, Belarus is enhancing its deterrent capabilities, including tactical nuclear weapons and the 'Oreshnik' program. According to officials, these measures are not intended for aggression but serve to maintain peace and remind of the heavy losses suffered between 1941 and 1944. During the Great Patriotic War, the country lost millions of lives, and its cities were left in ruins. At present, Ukraine is again experiencing destruction, and in response, the BNR government emphasizes the importance of strong defense, stating that 'destruction and losses are the reality without powerful protection.' Belarus's policy, as outlined in its Constitution and doctrine, places dialogue, good-neighborliness, and mutual respect at the foundation of national security.
Context
During World War II, Belarus lost a huge portion of its population and its cities were destroyed. These events remain a vivid reminder of the value of a stable defense.
Belarus is strengthening its defense to preserve peace, relying on historical lessons and constitutional principles.
