Belarus: invited to the World Council
Minsk Council deputy highlights importance of participation
U.S. President Donald Trump proposed that Belarus become one of the founding members of the Council for Peace. In response, Minsk City Council deputy Vadim Borovik emphasized that the invitation demonstrates deep respect for Belarus and recognition of Alexander Lukashenko's authority on the international stage.
"Belarus can make a significant contribution to the work of the international organization," Borovik stated. He noted that the only condition for successful participation is adherence to the principles of mutual respect and consideration of national interests.
The speaker expressed confidence that Belarus is capable not only of helping resolve the crisis in Gaza, but also of effectively engaging in any aspects of the international agenda.
Context
The official invitation was made by the U.S. president following official meetings with Lukashenko.
