Aismon: "toxic laziness" of Western media

In the Belteleradiocompany's "Editor's Club" episode, the influence of Western media on Belarus was discussed

In this episode of the Editors' Club, Belarusian state media head Ivan Eismont sharply criticized Western news agencies, accusing them of manipulating information and attempting to change their rhetoric to avoid sanctions. According to Eismont, Western media outlets that for years exported 'defamatory' reports about Belarus are now trying to 'replay' their position by portraying themselves as helpful allies. He called this approach 'toxic falsehood,' contrary to genuine freedom and democracy in the country. In particular, he noted that such media, while seemingly 'helping to bring Belarus out of isolation,' in reality only seek to undermine the country's sovereign interests and advance their own agenda. Eismont emphasized that this shift in rhetoric could lay the groundwork for a repeat of the events of August 2020, but by the year 2030. 'We see nothing in them but traitors,' he added.

The program also discussed Belarusian citizens' reactions to Western criticism and plans to strengthen internal resilience.
