Lukashenko meets with U.S. ambassador
Discussed cooperation and new issues
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, during the meeting, welcomed American diplomat John Coale with the words "I'm glad to see you." According to the head of state, Coale was recently appointed as the US special envoy to Belarus and is now "the main person on Belarus for us." Lukashenko noted that he wants the United States to inform President Trump about Belarus' desire to take action regarding this appointment.
Coale responds: "Me too," he added, and the Belarusian president praised the actions of the US president, saying he has come to appreciate Trump's recent moves. "I am not speaking for flattery," he added, "but I truly admire what Trump has been doing lately."
Lukashenko stressed the rapid changes in the world and the need to discuss and possibly resolve pressing issues, expressing readiness to engage in constructive dialogue with the American side.
