Lukashenko criticized spending practices
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that in recent years the government has ceased to pay adequate attention to cost reduction, cost efficiency, and savings. He said: "I see that in recent years we have completely stopped working on reducing costs, cost efficiency, and savings. This topic has generally disappeared from the government's agenda. Or have you forgotten that, apart from the 'market,' there are such economic concepts?" He emphasized that this discrepancy raises concerns about the efficiency of public spending.
