Lukashenko on partnership with EU

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated his readiness for partnership with the European Union. He said, "Of course, we are not happy that Europe has more problems than we do, but I am pleased that Europe has realized where their happiness lies." He emphasized that "Europe's place is together with us, with Russia – our home, this is where happiness should be sought." Speaking to the governor of Russia's Kirov region, he also noted that "if Americans impose tariffs, Belarus is ready to respond with higher tariffs." Dismissing concerns about higher gas prices, he said: "they will not pay more for it than Russia has always offered."
