Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko delivered a speech on the development of the machine-building industry, emphasizing the need to transition to domestic production of gasoline and diesel engines, as well as the necessity for the country to 'raise the bar' in manufacturing electric and hybrid vehicles, aiming to produce at least ten thousand cars per year. In his speech, Lukashenko also mentioned plans to expand overseas assembly operations: localization of tractor and truck production in Vietnam, and joint production of BelAZ equipment in Iran. He stressed that Belarus does not intend to completely relocate its factories abroad.
