Lukashenko on aim of attack on Putin's residence
He does not rule out her attempt to derail the peace process
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said he does not rule out that the aim of the attack on Vladimir Putin's residence was to derail the peace process. "Maybe they wanted to provoke Putin at the very moment when peace is within reach, to disrupt this negotiation process. There is such an opinion—that Putin would go for some escalation, that he would abandon the peaceful path," the head of state noted.
"And this morning I already noticed: nothing of the sort. That's Putin all over. He doesn't panic. And he's right. There's no need to rush. There is a peaceful track—we are following it," Lukashenko continued.
In the statement, the fate of the peace process in the context of the event that became the focus of attention remains open.
