Lukashenko on "military" stage of economy
The president spoke about the impact of sanctions and economic tools of war
In response to the current tense situation, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko spoke about the 'military' phase facing the country's economy. According to him, 'the economy has become a real battlefield'; economic tools are being used as in classical warfare: depriving resources, provoking social protests, and forcing compliance with one's own rules.
Lukashenko listed various types of restrictions he believes are operating on a global scale: 1) sanctions, already involving over 50 countries; 2) embargoes, such as those used against Cuba; 3) tariff wars with duties, quotas, and bans on imports and exports; 4) currency attacks, which he claimed were directed at Iran; 5) the struggle for technology, including bans on supplying equipment, chips, and software; 6) control over supply chains.
He emphasized that Belarus has 'fully experienced' this set of 'civilized rules,' yet countries 'continue operating as if there were no restrictions or sanctions,' the president stated.
Lukashenko noted that Belarus's economy is at a 'military' stage due to widespread sanctions and other restrictions; he listed types of economic 'war instruments' and emphasized that the country continues to operate, ignoring these restrictions.
