Lukashenko: US invitation postponed
The president will not be able to attend, the minister will represent
Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko was offered an invitation to attend the first meeting of the leaders of the World Council. However, the president was unable to confirm his visit due to a tight schedule. In a press release, press secretary Natalia Eismont noted that Belarus in principle would like to visit the United States, but further issues cannot be postponed. The president is declining, but fully supports the goals of the World Council and the United States' intentions to resolve global conflicts peacefully. The country's representative in Washington will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, fully immersed in the topics of Belarus's participation in the World Council, regional policy issues, as well as bilateral Belarusian-American relations.
Lukashenko will not be able to attend the World Council meeting but supports its goals; the foreign minister will represent Belarus in the US.
