Lukashenko invited to Gaza Peace Council
Document with Belarus leader's participation proposal
In a document published today, President Alexander Lukashenko received an invitation to participate in the work of the Peace Council, established to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip. The invitation was extended to support international efforts to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus noted that this invitation is recognition of the personal merits and international authority of the head of state. According to representatives of the MFA, Lukashenko's participation in the Peace Council will help strengthen Belarus's position as a constructive mediator in international affairs.
"It is difficult to imagine peace right now, but Belarus is ready to play its part," MFA sources said. "Lukashenko's participation in the Peace Council will help advance peace initiatives and strengthen international relations."
Lukashenko has received an invitation to participate in the World Council's efforts to resolve the situation in Gaza.
