Lukashenko sets goals in Vitebsk region

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced new tasks that the leadership of the Vitebsk region must address. He emphasized that the decision to change the regional leader is not extraordinary, but the region needs a 'breakthrough.' According to him, a meeting on regional development held in October last year revealed a difficult economic situation. Lukashenko expects that local personnel will mobilize and accomplish the priority tasks. He noted that 'we were working in the old way' and now problems must be approached with a fresh perspective.
