Lukashenko says UN is 'useless'
The president expressed skepticism about the UN's role
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko criticized the United Nations, saying it is "useless" and unable to address important international issues.
In his address to the World Council, Lukashenko noted that if there were another organization capable of replacing the UN, he would be "overjoyed" and "delighted." According to him, the UN's activities are dominated by numerous "empty" events, while major issues, such as the conflict in Palestine and the Gaza Strip, remain unresolved.
"It was decided to establish a Palestinian state. A long time ago. Is it done? No. Constant clashes, constant war. Has the UN prevented a single conflict? Not one," emphasized Lukashenko.
He stressed that "we are realists" and currently see no alternative to the UN, as there is no other organization where all modern global governance revolves.
The president emphasized that without the existence of another global platform, the UN remains "useless" and incapable of resolving crises.
