Minister Khrenin: dialogue, not weapons

Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin criticized Western politicians in an interview, stating that they 'frighten their own population' by portraying Russia and Belarus as enemies. According to him, Western leaders 'benefit from scaring and manipulating people,' spending huge amounts on military needs.

"We are ready for this. And the president has repeatedly emphasized: 'Let's negotiate peacefully,'" Khrenin noted. He added that he hopes that in the future, politicians will come to power in the West who will not brandish weapons and provoke confrontations between peoples, while stressing that they 'are ready to speak with words, not weapons.'

This statement highlights the internal position of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense regarding conflict prevention and expresses a desire to avoid military escalation, while simultaneously criticizing the West's external approach.
