Estonian intel: Russia avoids

In an interview with ERR, Estonian Foreign Intelligence Director Vitaly Kaupo Rosin stated that Russian authorities have "changed their behavior" in response to various incidents in the region. According to him, Russia respects the NATO alliance and currently seeks to avoid public conflicts.

Rosin emphasized that Estonian intelligence observations show Russia is "restraining itself" due to "Estonian activity," not due to lack of interest in the Baltics. He noted that Russia's strategy is aimed at maintaining stability within the NATO zone.

At the same time, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko responded, saying rumors about "attacks on Poland and the Baltics" are "complete nonsense" and relate only to his decades-long work. Lukashenko's words highlighted the absence of escalation and added: "We don't need any Europe, Paris or London," he wrote.

The press release on this statement indicated that Lukashenko aims to preserve peace and avoid conflicts just as much as most NATO countries, emphasizing that the reason behind Russian actions is anxiety and fear, not aggression.

Context
