Lavrov accused Lithuania of provocations

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview that Lithuania's plans to create a fortified area near the Suwalki corridor appear to be an attempt to provoke Moscow and Minsk, after which it could turn to the EU and NATO for support. He noted: "They are up to something." Lavrov emphasized that such actions could increase tensions in the region and put Belarus in an awkward position before its allies. In response to accusations of provocative actions, Minsk has not yet expressed an official position.
