An unusual light phenomenon was observed at night in the Leningrad region: ice crystals in the air were illuminated, creating a shimmering light above the landscape. According to meteorological services, the temperature that evening dropped to approximately -22 °C, causing atmospheric peculiarities and the illumination of crystals. Such phenomena, although rare, have been noted at extreme temperatures when ice begins to evaporate and forms glowing crystals.
